Robert was a banker in New York and Chicago, with an MBA in finance, before he left the corporate world and moved to Carrboro with his wife, Bethaney Dale, in 1994 to work with nonprofits. He joined the board of Orange Community Housing Corporation in 1996 and became executive director in December 1997. He managed the organizational transition to a community land trust in 2000-2001. Deanna joined the Community Home Trust team in October 2011. She has worked in the affordable field in Chapel Hill since 2007. Deanna grew up in the small town of Green Creek, NC but has been in Chapel Hill since 1989, when she came to the University of North Carolina. Deanna is married to Daaron Parrish, a social worker for Durham County DSS. Together they have four children, Bryan, Kyler, Connor and Krystal. Julia joined Community Home Trust in July of 2014. Julia and her family recently moved to the Chapel Hill area after spending 17 years moving around the world. Her last international stop was in Mexico, where she lived for six years. While in Mexico, she was coordinator for a girl’s orphanage, and chaired many fundraising events at her children’s school. She now calls Chapel Hill home with her husband, three kids, and two dogs. In her free time, Julia can either be found taking a long run or at one of her kid’s soccer practices, games, or tournaments. Julia is a fluent Spanish speaker, so will be able to assist the Spanish speaking population to understand and use our program. Lori recently moved to the Raleigh area from northern Mississippi, but has spent most of her time in the Midwest. Trish Cates joined CHT in September 2007. Trish manages the Home Trust’s Land Leases, the Stewardship program, and is the Property Manager for the Homeowners Associations. She also oversees the Home Trust’s financial affairs. Prior to joining the Home Trust, Trish worked in the construction field as a business manager, and as an administrator for a nonprofit center in San Luis Obispo, California. Trish now resides in Mebane, NC with her husband, Steve, their six dogs and three cats. They enjoy their music business, rescuing and transporting homeless animals, and volunteering for disabled children’s and homeless programs. Camille joined Community Home Trust in May 2014. In 2005, Camille returned to her native state and settled in Orange County with her family. Later that year, she became the Executive Director of Durham Central Park, Inc. and oversaw the completion of the first major construction in this reclaimed green space. For more than two decades, Camille has worked with a number of nonprofits to advance their mission. When not working, Camille spends time with her family and volunteers often with organizations where her children and/or she have been involved.
