JOIN - Community Home Trust membership is open to all. Our members are CHT homeowners, business people, elected officials, developers, community activists, and others concerned with the high cost of homeownership in our community. All donations are tax-deductible and help build a legacy of homes that will remain affordable for generations. Members attend our annual meetings and help elect our board of directors. Community Home Trust works to create affordable homeownership opportunities for Orange County employees and residents earning less than 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI - Click here for AMI chart and explanation). With the help of area developers and local and federal governments, we have acquired almost 150 homes. We utilize those same sources to fund projects and bring sales prices below market value.

The Home Trust has sold homes to over 135 low-moderate income households. Many of our former homeowners become private market homeowners in the community by using the proceeds from the resale of their Home Trust home. Our program assures that Community Home Trust homes remain affordable for future generations.

Our program works to serve those who cannot afford to purchase a private market home in our community. What a person gains by owning a home far outweighs the monetary differences between our program and the private market.
