A Night of Honor, Impact & Community: The Foundation of Home Awards

A Celebration of Home and Hope

There’s something powerful in the gathering of neighbors, partners, and changemakers, and last week, on October 30, 2025, that power was on full display at the Foundation of Home Awards Dinner, hosted by Community Home Trust.

We came together to celebrate the people and stories at the heart of permanently affordable housing in our community, and we’re thrilled to share that thanks to your generosity, we raised more than $30,000 to help expand access to permanently affordable housing in our community.

A Night to Remember

Guests enjoyed a warm reception and a delicious dinner, as we reconnected with old friends, made new ones, and shared in the collective spirit that drives our mission.

The evening featured powerful storytelling from Community Home Trust Executive Director Kimberly Sanchez and special guest speaker Sarah Guidi from the Triangle Community Foundation, highlighting both the progress we’ve made and the challenges that still lie ahead.

We also had the honor of presenting the Community Impact Awards, recognizing individuals and partners whose dedication embodies what it means to build community through housing:

  • The Building Better Futures Award for extraordinary supporters of permanently affordable housing, awarded to Jane and Adam Stein. Read more about the Steins and their commitment to creating lasting change in our community.

  • The Deanna Carson Memorial Good Neighbor Award, celebrating a CHT homeowner or tenant whose compassion and generosity strengthen their neighborhoods, presented to Danielle Tippens. Read more about Danielle and her contributions to the CHT community.

  • The Roger Perry Exceptional Innovation Award, honoring creative, visionary approaches to addressing housing affordability, awarded to The Chapel of the Cross. Read more about The Chapel of the Cross and their innovative contribution to housing affordability in our community.

Additionally, we honored the exceptional service of CHT Board President, Brika Eklund, and celebrated CHT’s innovative work in preserving and rehabbing the Open Air Camp Road Affordable Homes, a project that received the prestigious 2025 Housing NC Innovation in Housing Award from the NC Housing Finance Agency earlier this year.

Why It Matters

Every dollar raised and every story shared helps move us closer to a future where everyone has a place to call home, a place of stability, possibility, and belonging.

By uniting for this evening, we stood together in solidarity with families striving for stability, celebrated neighbors who go above and beyond, and reaffirmed our collective commitment to housing equity across the Triangle.
