Local Leaders, Lasting Impact: Jane and Adam Stein Receive the 2025 Building Better Futures Award

Community Home Trust is proud to announce that Jane and Adam Stein have been selected as the recipients of the 2025 Building Better Futures Award, presented by PNC for the second consecutive year. This distinguished honor celebrates individuals whose extraordinary support and unwavering belief in housing equity have created lasting change in our community.
Each year, the Building Better Futures Award recognizes a Community Home Trust supporter who exemplifies the core belief that everyone deserves a place to call home. It honors those who not only stand with us in that belief, but who act on it—through advocacy, philanthropy, and deep, meaningful engagement. Jane and Adam Stein are exactly those people.
For decades, the Steins have been powerful advocates and generous philanthropists, dedicating themselves to causes that promote justice, dignity, and opportunity for all. Their work has touched countless lives across Chapel Hill and beyond, as they have consistently supported organizations that tackle systemic inequality and uplift marginalized communities.
Their careers were dedicated to civil rights law and public health, so their focus on housing affordability is a natural offshoot of those passions. As Jane puts it, “Housing is the core of life. It determines so much.” The Steins recognize that stable, affordable housing is foundational to health, education, and economic mobility, and they’ve backed that understanding with tireless action.
The Steins have been active contributors to Community Home Trust’s efforts from the very beginning. They encourage everyone to get involved with housing affordability by learning about what is going on, caring about the issue, speaking up when possible, and donating when you can. Thank you Jane and Adam!
The Steins and the other Community Impact Awards winners will be presented their awards on October 30, 2025, at the Foundation of Home Awards dinner.
