This past weekend, we had the pleasure of hosting a gathering for staff and board to connect with Community Home Trust homeowners. It was meaningful to see so many people come together in such an engaged and welcoming space.
We heard inspiring stories about how families are thriving in their homes; building stability, putting down roots, and contributing to the broader community.
The event included information on key CHT resources, family photo mini-sessions, and a fire extinguisher demo by the Carrboro fire department. More importantly, it created space for homeowners to connect with our team, learn about available programs, and ask questions. It also reinforced a simple truth: strong communities are built through partnership, shared experiences, and ongoing engagement.
Our work does not end when someone buys a home. We stay connected and continue to support homeowners over time, with resources like our Stewardship program, which helps homeowners maintain their homes affordably.
By keeping maintenance costs manageable, this program helps ensure that CHT homes remain in good condition, reduces financial strain on homeowners, and preserves our homes as an asset for future generations. The Stewardship program is both a practical service and a shared commitment to protecting our community’s investment.
This is about more than housing. It’s about investing in one another’s success. When homeowners thrive, the entire community benefits.
We are grateful to everyone who participated this weekend and to all those who continue to support this work. Together, we are building a stronger community.
With gratitude,

Kimberly Sanchez, President and CEO
