Building Together
Support CHT’s work in 2026!
With the help of our community, we’re on track to add more than 250 new permanently affordable homes in the coming years; protecting affordability for generations and helping families stay rooted where they belong.
This growth is only possible with partners like you. Every gift strengthens neighborhoods, supports families, and helps build a more stable, inclusive community. Thank you for believing in housing that puts people first.
If you can, please give a gift to help make this work possible. And watch the video below to learn more about how CHT, and you, are creating lasting affordability.
Home News
Three families are currently under contract to purchase CHT homes. We look forward to welcoming them home soon!
Four homes are currently available and being matched to approved buyers in our home buying program. Two more CHT homes will be available for resale soon, and even more new construction homes are on the way!
Later this month, we’ll break ground on Homestead Gardens, an innovative collaboration with the Town of Chapel Hill, Habitat for Humanity, and CASA. The development will provide 117 affordable units, with 21 new townhomes added to CHT’s permanently affordable housing inventory.

Vice President of Strategy and Operations Daniele Berman attended the UNC Wood Center for Real Estate Studies’ John Mitchener Housing Affordability Symposium to connect with organizations and resources addressing housing issues.
We’re also proud to share that President & CEO Kimberly Sanchez was named to the Board of Directors of the Grounded Solutions Network, a key role in expanding the national impact of community land trusts. Kimberly was also honored as Chapelboro’s Hometown Hero this week—congratulations!
