NC Housing Day 2026
Community Home Trust stood alongside more than 175 housing advocates from across North Carolina at NC Housing Day 2026, engaging directly with legislators to advance durable, statewide housing solutions.
This year also marked the inaugural participation of the North Carolina Community Land Trust Coalition, amplifying a unified, community-driven voice for housing. Advocates underscored that affordable housing is critical infrastructure and called for increased state investment to address a growing shortage and rising costs.
Through these conversations, Community Home Trust helped highlight the importance of sustainable models, like community land trusts, in ensuring long-term housing affordability for North Carolinians.

CHT in the Community
Last month, we hosted a vibrant Homeowner Connect event for CHT homeowners, bringing together many of the incredible people who make our community so special.
Attendees enjoyed a hands-on fire extinguisher demonstration led by the Carrboro Fire Department, learned more about CHT’s support programs, and had the chance to connect with staff and board members. Read more about the event from CHT President and CEO, Kimberly Sanchez.
Also, HUD recently released updated Area Median Income (AMI) figures, and with these new limits, more households may now qualify for our home buying program.
If you or someone you know didn’t meet the income requirements before, it’s worth taking another look—these updates could open the door to new opportunities for homeownership. Learn more about the updated eligibility guidelines.
