Election Day is two weeks away, but your chance to shape the future of housing in Orange County starts now.
Local elections have a direct impact on housing affordability and how our communities plan for inclusive growth. The Orange County Affordable Housing Coalition (OCAHC), of which CHT is a member, has compiled these resources to help you make an informed vote this election season.
Important Election Information:
- Early Voting: October 16 – November 1

Candidate Guide
In August, OCAHC sent a housing-focused questionnaire to all candidates running in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough. Their responses are available in their 2025 Candidate Guide so you can learn where they stand on key housing issues.
Candidate Forums
In September, OCAHC partnered with NEXT to host candidate forums focused on housing access, homelessness, and how towns are responding to funding cuts. Recordings of the forums are available: Watch the Forums
By staying informed and voting, we all play a role in shaping the future of our communities. Your voice matters – and your vote matters.
Let’s make housing a priority this election season.
Thank you for being part of the movement,

Kimberly Sanchez, Executive Director
