On February 18 at 7 p.m., the Carolina Theatre of Durham will host the premiere of Community Home Trust’s new impact film: “Land, Trust, and Resilience: The Road to Staying Home.” Please save the date and plan to join us for the free screening and discussion.

On March 1, 2024, Community Home Trust purchased five homes on Open Air Camp Road in Durham, North Carolina, officially making them part of our permanently affordable inventory. The residents of those homes are members of the Eno River Tenants’ Association and had long hoped their homes could be protected by becoming part of a community land trust. We have now completed extensive necessary renovations on the homes, work that was funded by a grant from the Oak Foundation and a loan from the Durham Affordable Housing Loan Fund. The current tenants, some of whom have lived in their homes for nearly twenty years, will get to stay – and some may even choose to become homeowners using our land trust homeownership model.

This film examines the process of rehabbing these five homes and highlights the stories of three of the residents. We hope you’ll join us for what promises to be a powerful evening of celebrating home.

Tickets are free but required. Link to reserve your seat coming soon.
