“Gosh, it’s a great program with a lot of friendly people!” That’s what Brian has to say about what advice he’d give someone who is interested in applying to purchase a home through Community Home Trust. “It’s great to reach out to any team member, and the website is really user friendly.”

Brian grew up on the west side of the Triangle, graduating from nearby UNC Greensboro in 2009. He moved back home to his parents’ house so he would have a short commute to work. In fact, it was his mom who first learned about Community Home Trust and recommended he look into it.

Brian has worked at UNC for the past four years as an administrator in the Exercise and Sports Science Department, and he knew he wanted to stay in this town his family loves. He did his research and looked into home possibilities at 140 West and Legion Road. But it was when he found East 54 that he knew where he wanted to live.

Brian first started talking with Community Home Trust in July 2017, and he admits that his experience might be a little unusual: he was in his home just one month later! One of the great perks about living where he does is that he can walk to work or catch the bus easily, depending on the weather.

“I’m just really glad this worked out,” says Brian. “It was a really smooth process, and working with Amy and Ian was great.”
