NC Affordable Housing Conference
Our team had an incredible experience at the NC Affordable Housing Conference, joining over 1,500 professionals dedicated to expanding housing access across North Carolina. We were honored to received the 2025 Innovation in Housing Award, recognizing our forward-thinking work in affordable housing solutions.
CHT Executive Director, Kimberly Sanchez, shared her expertise on the awards panel and led an engaging discussion on the future of community land trusts in NC. We’re grateful for the chance to connect, learn, and be recognized alongside so many inspiring changemakers in this field.
On The Homefront
This month, another family has gone under contract and is on their way to purchasing a CHT home, congratulations to them!
We’re also preparing three additional homes for resalethrough our home buying program and look forward to welcoming three more families soon.
Construction is well underway at the Summit at Homestead, a new development by TriPointe Homes. We’re excited to soon offer the first of 17 permanently affordable townhomes through our homebuying program. CHT staff recently visited the site to preview these stunning new homes, and we can’t wait to share more with you.

CHT In The Community
You may have seen that CHT was recently selected as one of the inaugural grantees of the Triangle Community Foundation’s Housing Affordability grant program!
As part of their commitment to advancing housing solutions across the region, TCF hosted a Housing Affordability Bus Tour through Chatham and Orange counties. Kimberly Sanchez and Daniele Berman joined the tour to highlight CHT’s work and share the impact of our efforts.
Save the Date! CHT’s 2025 Annual Meeting will be held virtually on December 1 at 6:30 pm. During this session we’ll share important organizational updates. More details to come soon!

Foundation of Home Awards
On Thursday, October 30, Community Home Trust will honor local champions of affordable housing at the Foundation of Home Awards dinner.
The event will include three Community Impact Awards, inspiring stories, and a special address from the Triangle Community Foundation.
Presented by PNC, UNC Health, Taft-Mills Group and other generous sponsors.

Home Maintenance Class
Learn more Join CHT and the Home Repair Lab for this 2.5-hour class. Learn how your home operates, how to interact with service providers, and how to be your own advocate for repairs and maintenance. For CHT homeowners, we will review the Stewardship program. Class is open to the public. Next class: November 11. Register here.
Neighborhood Tour:
Learn more about the communities where CHT residents live and see some examples of our homes for yourself. The neighborhood tour lasts approximately two hours and starts with coffee and conversation at our office. Space is limited and registration is required. Next tour: December 11, 2:00-4:30 pm.
