Welcome Breta!

Please join us in welcoming Breta Stroud to the Community Home Trust Team! She recently joined CHT as our new Development Director.
With more than 24 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Breta brings a depth of leadership, strategic development expertise, and a lifelong commitment to community impact. She has served in key leadership and advancement roles across a diverse range of organizations, including Executive Director of the Highlands Literacy Council and Director of Development for the Friends of the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort. Most recently, she served as Assistant Director of Development at The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, where she advanced philanthropic initiatives in support of higher education.
In addition to her extensive nonprofit leadership experience, Breta is certified in Nonprofit Management through Duke University. She is also a licensed massage and bodywork therapist and holds certification in Somatic Experiencing, reflecting her commitment to holistic well-being and integrative approaches to leadership and service.
A graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Breta is a proud North Carolina native. Having lived across the state—from the mountains to the coast—she considers Chapel Hill her true hometown.
