Affordable Housing Fireside Chat
On November 13, 2024, we hosted our first-ever Affordable Housing Fireside Chat between former Congressman David Price and former housing advisor to President Obama and current nonresident fellow at the Urban Institute, Jim Parrott. They discussed the policy and politics of the issue, along with the prospects that a new administration and congress will take steps to address this important issue in the years to come.

Representative David E. Price served as the US Representative for North Carolina’s 4th Congressional District for 26 years. Over his tenure, Price has served on several Congressional committees including Housing and Urban Development and has authored and co-authored numerous bills on Capitol Hill. Most notably he authored the PRICE Notice of Funding Opportunity to support the preservation and revitalization of manufactured housing and eligible manufactured housing communities.
Jim Parrott provides strategic advice on housing finance issues to financial institutions through his firm at Parrott Ryan Advisors. Parrott worked for several years in the Obama administration as a Senior Advisor at the National Economic Council. A policy and thought leader, Parrott has helped the White House develop housing policy positions and Legislative strategy. He also serves on the Community Home Trust Board of Directors.
