What is Longleaf Trace?
The proposed Longleaf Trace development is located at 1708 Legion Road in Chapel Hill.
Please note: this project is adjacent to but not related to the one proposed on the Town-owned land at 1714 Legion Road.
As envisioned, Longleaf Trace will provide 48 1- and 2-bedroom rental units. All of the units will be age restricted for seniors and affordable to households at or below 60% of Orange County AMI (Area Median Income). The development will include a clubhouse with a community room, kitchenette, fitness room, reading areas, and a computer center.
The proposed development represents a partnership between Taft Mills Group (TMG) and local nonprofit Community Home Trust (CHT), whose primary business models involve developing, owning, and managing affordable housing. The development will supply much-needed high quality, safe, affordable senior rental housing, helping promote equitable development, economic opportunity, and mobility and connectivity.
