Dear Subscriber,
Happy New Year!
I hope the end of 2022 brought you fun celebrations, time with family, or even just some quiet and rest. At Community Home Trust, we are starting out 2023 excited about what’s to come this year!
But first, let me pause to thank you for your support in 2022. Whether you are a resident who has invited people to apply to join you as part of the CHT family, a donor who has financially supported our work, an advocate who has shared with local elected officials why you support the development of affordable housing, or a friend or neighbor who has stopped by our table at an event or told others about our work, THANK YOU. We cannot accomplish anything without our community’s support, and as I reflect on the year that has just ended, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for all we accomplished together.
Cheers to 2023!
Kimberly Sanchez, Executive Director
Development Updates
As we shared in December, our planned development at Homestead Gardens received full funding from the Town of Chapel Hill. We are planning to build 21 townhomes in this community, and we hope to start construction in fall 2023.
But Homestead Gardens is just one of the projects we’re excited about getting started this year. Stay tuned to this space for updates as we begin a season of growth and development in 2023 — and beyond!
Homeowner and Tenant Stories
To kick off 2023, we’re revisiting our most-clicked CHT resident story of 2022 — is it any wonder that a cat grabbed the attention of the internet above all?
Maybe you (and/or your adorable pet) would like to share your CHT story? Our residents’ stories are the lifeblood of our blog, and we love sharing them in hopes that they’ll encourage others to become part of the CHT family, too.
Want to share your story? It’s easy! Just click the button to email Daniele, and she’ll set up a brief Zoom interview with you. That’s it!
Protect Your Pipes!
We want to send a huge shoutout to Rosemary Place homeowners Todd and Susan (and Todd’s kids!), who helped their neighbors during the recent cold snap when frozen pipes burst.
Want to know what you can do to prevent this costly problem in your house? Learn more from our property management team on our blog — and be ready before the next cold snap!
Thank You!
Before the holidays, Executive Director Kimberly Sanchez and Marketing and Communications Manager Daniele Berman had the opportunity to thank our elected officials at the Chamber for a Greater Chapel Hill and Carrboro’s annual Local Government Appreciation Reception.
We’re so grateful for our elected officials’ hard work on behalf of our community and loved having the chance to thank them in person!
