Welcome, Caroline!
Please help us welcome our new Deputy Director,
Caroline Veloso Oliveira!
“Home is essential. After recently buying my first home, I know how hard it can be. It takes a lot of work, time, and research, and prices keep going up. But when you have the security of home, that’s the most important thing.”
This is why Caroline is so excited to join the Community Home Trust team!
Born in Brazil, Caroline grew up splitting time between her hometown and New York City, where she eventually settled in 2013. Because of her unique multicultural childhood, Caroline speaks Portuguese, Spanish, and English fluently, and she’s also learning Greek from her husband. She comes to Community Home Trust from her most recent job as the Director of the North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals, where she worked for the past three and a half years. Her educational background is in nutrition, in which she holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She also is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP)> She has a long history of working in nonprofits and education, and she has called North Carolina home since 2017.
Caroline is also an artist! In her free time, she performs with a musical group, singing and dancing, and she has also recently taken up acting.
Caroline says she’s really excited to get to know the Community Home Trust family. As Deputy Director, she leads our property management team and is the second in command in our organization. She is in charge of program planning, operations, and human resources, and works closely with our financial department. She says that the most exciting thing for her is using her role to help people succeed, both in the community and on our Community Home Trust team. We’re so thrilled that she’s joined our staff, and we hope you’ll help us welcome her! You can reach her at cvoliveira@communityhometrust.org or 919.967.1545 x309.
If you’ve been around Community Home Trust for a while, you may be wondering why so much of Caroline’s job sounds like work that our long-time Operations Director Lori Woolworth has done. Never fear! Lori is still part of the team, just in a different role. As our part-time Finance Director, Lori is still in charge of budgeting and financial management for the organization, and she’s working closely with Caroline to help her get started in her new role with all the information she needs to be successful.
We’re so lucky to have both of these excellent professionals as part of the Community Home Trust team as we enter our fourth decade!
