Dear Subscriber,
The end of the year is always busy: school breaks, finishing up work projects, and holiday celebrations fill our calendars as the year comes to a close.
I also always end up thinking through how to decorate and reconfigure our house to comfortably host holiday events for gatherings of family and friends. If I had to describe this time of year in two words, community and comfort are the words that come to mind for me.
In my short time at CHT, I have loved beginning to get to know our community of homeowners, tenants, donors, and neighbors. It has quickly become evident to me that the CHT community is also committed to the comfort of our CHT homeowners and tenants by making sure their homes get the repairs needed to keep everyone healthy and safe.
Together in 2023 our CHT community has
- welcomed 11 new homeowners
- covered the cost of over $500,000 in essential home repairs through Stewardship Funds
- raised over $10,000 on Giving Tuesday for the Dowling Home Maintenance Fund
We are not only committed to providing permanently affordable homes here at Community Home Trust, but we are also committed to keeping those homes permanently comfortable and healthy. It truly warms my heart to be a part of a community that is so caring and compassionate!
We have big plans for 2024, and we need the support of our neighbors now more than ever as our community continues to grow. If you haven’t had the opportunity to make a donation yet in 2023, I’d be so grateful if you’d consider making a year-end gift today. A donation of any amount – even the smallest gift – will add up to great things in 2024.
I wish you the absolute BEST as we close out 2023, and I am so excited to see what we are able to accomplish together in 2024!

Thanks, Railcare Health!
Many thanks to our friends at Railcare Health for helping us host a free community healthcare event at The Landings at Winmore last week. Railcare staff and UNC Nursing students provided free screenings and health education to community members who attended.
