Time is running out to nominate a neighbor!

CHT homeowners and tenants: at our Annual Meeting and Block Party one month from today, we’ll present our annual Deanna Carson Memorial Good Neighbor Award to a CHT homeowner or tenant who exemplifies the definition of a “good neighbor.”

The deadline to nominate a neighbor — or yourself! — for this award is Monday, August 28! So don’t delay!

Assistance for CHT Homeowners

The NC Homeowner Assistance Fund, or NCHAF, provides assistance to homeowners experiencing delinquency due to a financial hardship as a result of COVID-19 to help address mortgage and/or other qualified home ownership-related delinquencies to avoid default, foreclosure, or displacement.

North Carolina homeowners may apply online or contact the NC Homeowner Assistance Fund Call Center at 855-696-2423, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. NCHAF Call Center representatives are available to assist homeowners with application questions, or email us at outreach@nchaf.gov.

From a CHT Homeowner…

“Thank you for suggesting I reach out to the Chapel Hill fire department for help with changing out my smoke alarms! What a great community resource!

“Hugh Miles (Community Risk Reduction Coordinator for Chapel Hill FD, pictured here) was so helpful. They said there are grants available for those who don’t have smoke alarms (and possibly will offer them to those who need updating). Feel free to share this info with others who may need it!”
